Minggao Ouyang received his PhD degree from the Department of Energy, Technical University of Denmark in 1993. He is an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, professor and deputy director of the Academic Committee of Tsinghua University, the chairman of the International Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Association (IHFCA), the chairman of China’s All-Solid State Battery Industry-University-Research Collaborative Innovation Platform, the vice-chairman of the China Electric Vehicle Association, and the editor-in-chief of eTransportation.
He has been engaged in the research of new energy power system since year 2000. He has been the chief expert of the Chinese National New Energy Vehicle Science and Technology Special Project in the years 2007-2021. From 2010 to 2020, he was the Chinese side Chief Scientist of the US-China Clean Energy Cooperation Program “Electric Vehicle Research Alliance”. Currently, he focuses on the research of new energy science and technology, including lithium-ion battery and energy storage system, fuel cell and green hydrogen system, V2G and smart energy system.
He has published more than 500 papers in science-indexed (SCI) journals, and has been selected as Highly Cited Researchers for six times. He authorized more than 300 invention patents, won more than 10 domestic and international scientific and technological awards, including two second-class awards for national technological inventions and the IEEE Transportation Technology Award in 2022, etc., and incubated 25 student startups including companies listed in Shanghai Science and Technology Innovation Board and the Stock Exchange of Hong Kong.
