Professor Uosaki is Fellow and Executive Advisor to the President of NIMS and Professor Emeritus of Hokkaido University. He is also Program Director (PD) of Advanced Low Carbon Technology Research and Development Program (ALCA) and Program Officer (PO) of Specially Promoted Research for Innovative Next Generation Batteries of ALCA (ALCA-SPRING)as well as PO of “Low Carbon Society” mission area of Mirai Program of JST supported by MEXT. He was graduated with B. Eng. and M. Eng. from Osaka Universityin 1969 and 1971, respectively, and did his Ph. D. in the Flinders Universityof South Australia (1974 – 1976). He worked in Mitsubishi Petrochemical (1971-1978) and Inorganic Chemistry Lab. of Oxford University (1978-1980) before he joined Chemistry Department of Hokkaido Universityas Assistant Professor in 1980. He was promoted to Associate and Full Professor in 1981 and 1990, respectively. In 2010, he retired from Hokkaido University and joined NIMSas PI of International Center for Materials Nanoarchitectonics (MANA). He was Director of Global Research Center for Environment and Energy based on Nanomaterials Science (GREEN) between 2013 and 2019. He has published more than 450 original papers on electrochemical science and energy conversion. He received several awards including the Society Awards of CSJ and SSSJ and is Fellow of RSC, ISE, ECS and CSJ.
