Dr. Fan is a Professor at Nanyang Technological University (NTU), School of Physical and Mathematical Sciences. Since he joined NTU in 2008, he has been exploring materials and understanding their functions in energy conversion and storage processes, including electrocatalysis for hydrogen and carbon fuel generation, and flexible energy devices. Currently his group focuses on developing high-energy-density and low-cost aqueous zinc batteries. He has co-authored more than 300 journal papers with an H-index of 100 and has been recognized as Highly Cited Researchers consecutively since 2016 by Clarivate Analytics. He is currently the Editor-in-Chief of Materials Today Energy, and editorial/advisory board member of many energy material journals.
