Dr. Anja Henss is a renowned researcher specializing in instrumental analytics in the battery field. With a Ph.D. in Inorganic Chemistry, she currently leads the “Interface Analysis of Energy Storage Materials” research group at Justus-Liebig University in Gießen, Germany and serves as the Head of the Analytical Platform for Electrochemistry and Interfaces (ElCH) at the Center of Material Research (ZfM) since 2018.
Her research focuses on the detailed characterization of surface and interfacial properties of materials. Using high resolution analytical techniques such as SIMS, XPS and FIB-SEM, Dr Henss applies her expertise to various areas including interfacial processes, transport phenomena and in-situ and in-operando experiments on battery materials. This holistic approach underlines her commitment to the development of analytical methods, but also contributes significantly to the overall understanding of materials in the field of energy storage.
