Dr. Guohua Chen is a City University of Hong Kong University and the former Head of the Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering at Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. He was the Chairman of Chemical Disciplines at the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers during 2009 and 2012, and is currently serving as the President of the Asian Pacific Confederation of Chemical Engineering. He is an Adjunct Professor of Dalian University of Technology, a member of the Canadian national academy of science, and a non-executive Director of FDG Kinetics. Dr. Guohua has been an Editor of Separation and Purification Technology since 2006, Associate Editor of the Chinese Journal of Chemical Engineering, and an Editorial board member of the Journal of Electrochemistry.
Professor Chen’s research interests include electrochemical technologies for energy and environmental applications. He has published over 280 journal papers with over 28063 Google citations and an H index of 87. He edited 3 books, was granted three US patents and four China patents. He received the Certificate of Excellence in 2007 from the World Forum of Crystallization, Filtration and Drying. He was one of the three recipients of the inaugural Research Excellence Award in 2011 from the School of Engineering at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology.
