After serving as a postdoctoral fellow, an assistant professor, a senior researcher, and an associate professor at Université Pierre et Marie Curie, National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology, and the University of Tokyo for 16 years, he was appointed as a professor at Waseda University, where he is now
