Next-Genaration High Energy and Sustainble Cathode Materials

Geon-Tae Park is currently a Visiting Research Assistant Professor in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at the University of Washington. Prior to joining the University of Washington, he served as a Research Assistant Professor in the Department of Energy Engineering at Hanyang University, South Korea. He received his Ph.D. in Energy Engineering from Hanyang University in 2023 and subsequently continued his research as a postdoctoral researcher. Dr. Park has authored more than 50 peer-reviewed journal publications and was recognized among the World’s Top 2% Scientists in 2025, according to the Stanford University-Elsevier ranking. His research focuses on the development of advanced cathode materials for lithium-ion and next-generation batteries, including the synthesis of cathode materials and precursors, crystal structure engineering, and advanced structural characterization.
