Li, Xia

Concordia University, Canada

    Dr. Xia Li is an Associate Professor in the Department of Chemical and Materials Engineering at Concordia University. She holds the Concordia University Research Chair and serves as Associate Director of the Collaborative Centers on Energy and its Transition (C2ET). She received her PhD from Western University (Canada) in 2016. Her research focuses on the development of advanced materials and technologies for next-generation energy storage systems, including lithium- and sodium-based batteries as well as all-solid-state batteries. Her work aims to elucidate the relationships between material synthesis, structure, and electrochemical performance. Dr. Li has published over 70 peer-reviewed papers in leading journals such as Nature Chemistry, Joule, Materials Today, Nature Communications, Chem, and Advanced Materials. Her work has been cited more than 8,500 times, with an H-index of 54. In recognition of her contributions, she has received several prestigious honors, including the inaugural Concordia Research Impact Award (2024) and the Global Chinese Chemical Engineering Award for Outstanding Female Scientist (2025). She was also elected to the College of the Royal Society of Canada (RSC) in 2024.
