Kent Snyder leads the Energy Storage Development Group within Ford Motor Company’s Research and Advanced Engineering Organization in Dearborn, Michigan, where he is also a Ford Technical Expert in Battery Technology. He is the Industry Co-Chair of the USDRIVE Electrochemical Energy Storage Tech Team, a past Chair of the United States Advanced Battery Consortium (USABC) Technical Advisory Committee, and past Chair of The Electrochemical Society-Detroit Section, serving in multiple tenures over several decades of its history. Prior to joining Ford, he was with Panasonic Automotive Systems and its Panasonic EV Energy and Matsushita Battery Industrial Company affiliates, working in advanced battery development for automotive electrification applications. He has over 30 years of experience in battery research and development involving battery technologies for automotive and advanced electronics applications and holds a number of battery-related patents.
