Hwang, Bing Joe

Professor Bing Joe Hwang received his PhD degree in chemical engineering from the National Cheng Kung University in 1987. He is currently the Chair Professor in the Department of Chemical Engineering at National Taiwan University of Science and Technology (Taiwan Tech). His research work has spanned a wide range of subjects, from electrochemistry to spectroscopy, inter- facial phenomena, materials science, and theoretical chemistry. He has established both experimental and computational strategies for the development of new materials and for understanding interfacial phenomena. His work has led to a better understanding of electrochemical reaction mechanisms and to an improved ability to predict the properties of potential new materials for batteries, fuel cells and biosensors. He shows excellence in research activities with 455 peerreviewed publications, 60 patents, 30390 times citation, and a H-index of 81. He is also the Director of Sustainable Energy Development Center (Taiwan Tech), Adjunct Researcher of National Synchrotron Radiation Research, and the Associate Editor of the journal ACS Sustainable Chemistry & Engineering.
